Immediately following a fire at an agricultural
cooperative in Virginia, Duncklee &
Dunham
responded to
assist a
client with technical support, health and safety
advice, and sampling of the fire debris to allow for
the evaluation of disposal options. Materials
consumed in the fire included petroleum products,
household and agricultural grade pesticides,
herbicides, and fertilizers. Pesticide and
herbicide residues required disposal in a chemically
secure landfill.
Following a fire at an agrichemical storage facility
in eastern North Carolina, Duncklee & Dunham provided
assessment and remedial services to restore the
property. Services included technical
support, sampling and disposal of the fire debris in a
chemically secure landfill, and supervision of health
and safety during the remediation. Residual
agrichemical impacts to soils, sediments, and surface
water were assessed.
In 2006, Duncklee & Dunham provided sampling services
to plaintiff’s counsel following an explosion and fire
at a hazardous waste site in Apex, North Carolina.
The wastes at this facility included flammables,
pesticides, herbicides, household wastes, metals,
volatiles, and others.
