CORPORATE PROFILE

introduction

RODAK ENGINEERING, P.C. was created in 2005 to offer high quality and innovative environmental and civil engineering services.  The firm is an independent and privately held licensed engineering and geological corporation with projects performed across the Southeast.  Based in Cary, the firm is affiliated with Duncklee and Dunham, P.C. a licensed geological corporation.  We offer a wide-ranging scope of engineering and environmental services to industry, government agencies, military installations, real estate, lending institutions, and law firms.

The company was founded by Mr. Andrew Rodak, a registered engineer in North Carolina, Virginia, Maine, New Hampshire, and Georgia; Mr. David Duncklee, a licensed or professional geologist in North Carolina, Delaware, and Georgia; and Mr. Tom Dunham, a licensed or professional geologist in North Carolina, Kentucky, Delaware, and Tennessee.

Mr. Rodak has over 16 years in the civil and environmental engineering fields.  His experience includes working in both industry and consulting.  He was a Corporate Environmental Manager at a medium-sized telecommunications manufacturer with five facilities in North Carolina.  In that capacity, he was responsible for maintaining company compliance with air, wastewater, stormwater, and hazardous waste regulations, as well as performing industrial engineering duties that included design of upgrades to the facility’s wastewater treatment and metal finishing (electroplating and iron phosphating) processes.   He has also worked for small and large consulting firms at the Project and Senior Engineer levels on a variety of projects, including the patented design of a metals recovery process from an industrial wastewater stream, and the design of an air pollution control system to remove toxic air pollutants from a chemical vapor deposition process.

The types of services with which we strive to provide our clients include:

  • Engineering design and technical oversight during installation of remedial systems for cleanup of contaminated soil, ground water, and surface water, including the processes of monitored natural attenuation, microbiological augmentation and chemical oxidation through injection wells, deep and shallow zone air sparge and soil vapor extraction, dual phase extraction, thermal treatment, ozonation, and pump and treat with aeration, granular activated carbon, stripping towers, and ion exchange;

  • Stormwater Management Planning, Erosion/Sediment Control Plans, design and permit applications for post-construction Best Management Practices associated with Low and High Density commercial and residential properties, permit support for stormwater discharges associated with industrial and construction activities, stormwater pollution prevention plans, and inspection and monitoring of stormwater discharges from industrial and construction activities;

  • Engineering assessments of indoor air quality and ventilation systems in support of Brownfields development and compliance assistance (i.e. Standard 62) with Brownfields Agreements;

  • Air permitting support for Small, Synthetic Minor and Title V facilities, dispersion modeling for Toxic Air Pollutants, MACT and BACT assistance for Title V facilities, preparation of annual emission inventories, air pollution control device design;
