Matt Flinchum, P.G., R.S.M. presented at the 10th Geo3T2 Conference hosted by the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) in Cary, North Carolina.  The Geo3T2 Conference is aimed at those involved in transportation, investigation, design, construction, management, and research in the geotechnical and geoenvironmental fields.  Mr. Flinchum was among over 50 other speakers who showcased innovative developments, techniques and research at this conference.

Mr. Flinchum presented A Unique Approach to In-Situ Soil Stabilization, which summarized an innovative approach to treat contaminated soil at a former metals-processing facility.  The presentation provided a detailed case study of how to minimize costs in a full-scale remedy by measuring and evaluating the adsorption capacity of underlying soil in discrete areas of a site.  His approach successfully identified areas of a site that required remediation and areas that could be excluded from the remedy while being protective of groundwater.
